The Keys on the Rock
A student tells a travel story in about one minute.

You won’t believe what happened on our trip to Bernal last spring. Four of us set off from Querétaro at six in the morning, because we wanted to hike up Bernal’s famous rock before it got hot. My friend Diego had the car keys.

We parked, we hiked up to the viewpoint, and we took about a hundred photos. By the time we got back down, we were tired and happy. And then Diego put his hand in his pocket… nothing. The keys must have fallen out somewhere on the rock. We spent an hour looking between the stones.

In the end, Diego called his dad, and we walked back to the car to wait. And there they were… still in the car door. He can’t have locked the car at all! It was open all day, with our backpacks inside, and nobody touched a thing. Looking back, it was the best part of the trip.
