Two vocabularies: how travelers talk, how the industry sells
The same trip has two languages. Travelers use fixed expressions; the tourism industry uses marketing terms. Each entry gives the meaning, an example and a register note. (Cada expresión es fija: cambiar una palabra la rompe.)
What the brochure says — and what it suggests
Read the line from the travel brochure and tap the technique the highlighted part uses. Then the decoder splits it: literal meaning vs. what it makes you feel. (Lee el anuncio como un científico lee datos: qué se midió y qué se omitió.)
Half an expression needs its other half
Tap a beginning on the left, then tap its ending on the right. No dragging — it works with a finger too. (Toca la izquierda y luego la derecha.)
Register, near-twins and fixed forms
Errors Spanish speakers make
Read the sentence, find the problem, then tap Fix to check. (Errores típicos: adivina la corrección antes de verla.)
👩🏫 For the teacher — how this page maps to the manual
- Explore is Structure 4 in four objects: the two word lists of the manual as a searchable bank with meanings, examples and the register note (rough it, red-eye, couchsurf informal, promo informal); an ad decoder built on the persuasion techniques the unit identifies (magic words, fact-shaped numbers, scarcity, inviting imperatives, superlatives, evaluative adjectives); a tap-to-match collocation board; the special-cases card and the manual's pitfall list.
- Build is productive: students assemble the expression a situation needs (manual exercise A and the definitions of the marketing list), then transform — replacing underlined words with a travel expression and completing the marketing report cloze, with validation.
- Drill merges the quizzes into one graded engine of 37 items (★ meaning and odd one out · ★★ fix the fixed phrase, complete the term, register · ★★★ two-word terms, propaganda, persuasion techniques), with a score and a streak. Each attempt draws 18 items, six per level, so the bank outlasts several runs. A few items reach forward to the travel phrasal verbs of Structure 5 (check out, get on/off, set off, pick up): they share the unit's vocabulary, and the Particle Machine page drills them in full.
- Works offline. Reading/writing only — no audio.
Build the pitch
Read the situation, then choose the expression it needs. The machine builds the sentence — guess before you check.
Drill — one flow, three levels
Bank of 37 questions — each attempt draws 18 new ones. (Cada intento saca preguntas distintas: repítelo.)
★ meaning & odd one out · ★★ fix the fixed phrase & complete the term · ★★★ two-word terms & persuasion techniques. Keep your streak alive. (Igual escalera que tu Cuaderno de tareas.)
