Pull the reality lever
The golden rule: as the situation becomes less real, the verb "moves one step back" in time. Pick a scenario, move the lever, and the same idea changes conditional. (Cuanto menos real es la situación, el verbo retrocede un paso.)
1 · Choose a science scenario
2 · Move the lever from real to imaginary
Mixed conditionals — the timeline test
Real life mixes times, so conditionals mix too. Set each half on the timeline: both halves in the same zone → a normal conditional; halves in different zones → a mixed conditional.
Which order? Then the comma follows
if-clause first → comma in the middle. Result first → no comma.
👩🏫 For the teacher — how this page maps to the manual
- Explore visualises Grammar 1's "one step back" rule, the mixed-conditional timeline (the manual's diagram) and the comma rule. Turn on Predict first to keep the manual's "guess before you check" habit.
- Build is productive: students assemble a conditional by choosing the tense of each half, then transform real situations — the manual's rewrite exercises, with instant validation.
- Drill merges the old quizzes into one graded engine (★ identify/choose · ★★ fix the error/complete · ★★★ transform/inversion/mixed) with a running score and streak.
- Works offline. Reading/writing only — no audio.
Build a conditional
Read the situation, then choose the right tense for each half. The machine builds the sentence — guess before you check.
Drill — one flow, three levels
★ identify & choose · ★★ fix the error & complete · ★★★ transform, inversion & mixed. Keep your streak alive. (Igual escalera que tu Cuaderno de tareas.)
